A real triumph in this project was a transformation of the old garage which became a cosy cinema and sitting room. The narrow stair case leading down to the old garage was a stumbling block. Due to certain constraints, nothing could be added to it in terms of interesting lighting or other, more structural elements. Lana overcame this by designing a wall sculpture which fitted in to the corner, making its narrow shape with tall ceiling entirely appropriate. Visitors are faced with this dramatic piece as soon as they open the door and can also view it from downstairs. The sculpture became a focal point and a talking point. Shaggy carpets, plush corner sofa, textured blinds finished off with metallic pelmets, hand blown smoky grey glass lights in the corners and another two of Lana’s original paintings.
